MM Količevo in Domžale, Slovenia, is a cartonboard mill within MM Group and has operated since 1920. It produces about 300,000 tonnes a year of virgin-fibre and recycled cartonboard and white top coated recycled liner, mainly for food and pharmaceutical packaging. The mill is ISO 50001 certified for energy management.
Challenge and solution
A paper and carton mill runs continuously, so its lighting has to be reliable, while older lighting technology drives up energy use and maintenance work. This is why MM Količevo has chosen VP9102 luminaires in 2023 to support the mill’s move to more efficient, easier-to-maintain lighting. Currently they have around 60pcs of VP9102 luminaires illuminating the work spaces inside the dryer and coating sections of their manufacturing plant, where the environment is extremely harsh during production, including temperatures reaching +100°C with very high humidity.
The VP9102 luminaire
The VP9102 is an LED luminaire from Lumous’ industrial lighting range, made for hot industrial premises. Its most important feature is resistance to heat: it is rated for ambient temperatures from −40 °C to +100 °C.

Power supply: VP9101-PSU can power 4, 5 or 6 luminaires and is installed outside the hot space.
