Demanding environments allow for no compromises. When a luminaire is designed from the ground up with all requirements in mind, there is no need for later modifications or repairs.
We always manufacture our luminaires based on the specific needs of your project—including optics, housing, mounting, and control systems.
Almost all our luminaires can be customized, even in small batches.
From requirement to installation
- Site and requirements: We review the site drawings and conditions—what work takes place there and what challenges might arise.
- Lighting calculation: We calculate the required lighting levels and uniformity. You can see the final result before anything is manufactured.
- Design: Optics, color temperature, power output, materials, housing, and controls. We outline the options and their cost implications.
- Prototype: If necessary, we provide a prototype batch for on-site testing. It is not advisable to order heavily modified product in bulk without seeing it first.
- Production: Assembly in Finland. Lead time is typically 6–12 weeks from the order, depending on the modifications made.
- Installation and commissioning: Installation guidance, control system commissioning, and user training. Spare parts and support available even after installation.

Lighting that tells you what you need to know
In practice, smart control means three things: the lighting monitors the environment, adjusts itself, and reports back to you.
Adjustment: Sensors detect factors such as natural light levels and movement. The system increases light output when needed and dims or switches off the light when it is not required.
Monitoring: The energy consumption, operating hours, and status of every luminaire can be viewed. Maintenance needs usually appear in the system well before a failure occurs, allowing maintenance to be scheduled during planned downtime rather than interrupting production.
Data: Comprehensive data for reports—broken down by location or time period—providing ready-to-use information for energy monitoring and sustainability reporting.
Lighting as part of a larger system
Lighting rarely operates in isolation. Video surveillance requires adequate, even lighting to function effectively. Access control systems need light specifically at the gate, precisely when a vehicle arrives. Building automation systems require lighting consumption data to be displayed alongside other operational information.
We can provide a complete package comprising luminaires, control gear and software, or design the luminaires to integrate seamlessly with your existing systems.
Customization options for our luminaires
Optics and light distribution: Directing light exactly where it belongs—onto a walkway, into the aisles, or onto a work surface—rather than into corners or camera lenses.
Power and color temperature: Tailored to specific project requirements and the nature of the work, rather than limited to a standard product range.
Housing and materials: Protection against moisture, dust, chemicals, salt, pressure washing, vibration, or impact.
Mounting and mechanics: Adaptation to existing structures and poles, including cases where standard mounting hardware is unsuitable.
Control interface: Complete packages with integrated control systems, readiness for smart controls, or connectivity with other systems.
If one of our existing luminaire models can serve as a base, production runs can be as small as 50 units. This means even a single project can have its own custom-tailored luminaire.
Costs and savings
A customized luminaire has a higher purchase price than a standard catalog product. This cost difference is recouped in three ways:
Energy: Precise light distribution and application-specific controls ensure that light is produced only where and when it is needed. Optimizing these factors can reduce energy consumption by more than 50%.
Maintenance: Less frequent maintenance intervals and predictive fault data. When a luminaire requires less frequent servicing and the need for maintenance is identified well in advance, money is saved on both direct maintenance costs and the time spent on servicing.
Interruptions: A poorly lit production area, port yard, or gate can slow down operations or even bring them to a complete halt. This cost that does not appear in the lighting budget but shows up in production figures. In an industrial setting, the cost of even a brief production stoppage is often many times the price of the luminaire.
